Gold reserves of around 222.88 million tonnes, said to be India's largest, present in Bihar's Jamui will be explored after the state's approval. This came after a Geological Survey of India (GSI) survey indicated the presence of gold in areas like Karmatia, Jhajha and Sono in Jamui. Bihar's gold stockpiles account for 44% of the country's total reserves of gold.
